A meeting of business circles of Turkmenistan and Switzerland was held in the Swiss Confederation.

On November 20, 2017 in the city of Winterthur, Swiss Confederation, within the framework of the event "Turkmenistan is a business direction for Swiss companies", a meeting of business circles of Switzerland and Turkmenistan was held. The meeting was held on the margins of Turkmenistan's trade dialogue with the Joint Chamber of Commerce "Switzerland-CIS/Georgia".

The delegation of Turkmenistan included representatives of several ministries and state agencies, as well as business representatives of the country, in particular the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan, the State Concern “Turkmennebit”, the State Concern “Turkmengaz”, the State Committee for Tourism, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Chamber of Trade and Commerce of Turkmenistan, as well as the representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Swiss Confederation.

The Swiss side, led by Mr. Marcel Pavlicek, President of the Switzerland-CIS/Georgia Joint Chamber of Commerce, CEO of th “Burckhardt Compression” was represented by a number of major companies such as “Burckhardt Compression”, “ABB Switzerland”, “Eurasia Development”, “GMCS Group AG”, “Leica Geosystems AG”,  “M & M Militzer & Münch AG”, “Maschienenfabrik Rieter AG”, “QUORUS GmbH”, “Sulzer Chemtech Ltd.” and others.

During the business forum, the parties reviewed the prospects for further development of partnership in the oil and gas, light and textile industries, infrastructure, tourism and trade. In addition, representatives of the business circles of Turkmenistan and Switzerland discussed a number of specific measures and activities that will allow further development of activities in the priority areas of cooperation between the two countries, and, taking into account the favorable investment opportunities and conditions created in the country, to attract more Swiss companies to developing markets of Turkmenistan.

At the end of the event, the ceremony of initialing the "Memorandum of Understanding between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-CIS/Georgia on the establishment of a joint Turkmen-Swiss Business Council" was held.
