H.E. Vepa Hajiyev has been appointed Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations in New York.

During a government meeting, the President of Turkmenistan, H.E. Serdar Berdimuhamedov, signed a decree appointing Vepa Hajiyev as the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations (New York).

By another decree, the Head of State relieved H.E. Vepa Hajiyev of his duties as Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Swiss Confederation and to the Vatican.

In the position of Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations, H.E. Vepa Hajiyev succeeds H.E.Aksoltan Ataeva, who had held this post since February 1995.
