On 10 October 2025, an international forum was held at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), organized by the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Office at Geneva in cooperation with the "Geneva Center for Neutrality" (GCN) and the "Greater Caspian Association" (GCA). The event brought together over 300 participants — diplomats, policymakers, representatives of international organizations, heads and members of diplomatic missions accredited in Geneva, media, academic experts, and university students. The forum served as a major platform to discuss neutrality as a strategic approach in the context of contemporary global challenges. Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, delivered the keynote address at the event.
The programme featured three thematic sessions:
-
Neutrality in the Modern World – Diplomatic Approaches to Maintaining Stability and Trust;
-
The Economic Dimension of Neutrality – Its Role in Shaping the Investment Climate;
-
Neutrality and Technology – Regulation of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Security.
Participants emphasized that in the 21st century, neutrality is becoming an increasingly important tool for sustainable development, international dialogue, and mutual trust.
