UNECE Sustainable Energy Week 2025

From 29 September  to 2 October 2025,  The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Sustainable Energy Week 2025 was held under the theme “A Just Transition to Creating Sustainable Energy Systems.” The event brought together a wide range of experts, representatives of governments, international organizations, and other stakeholders.

The Week’s programme included sessions of the following bodies:

  • Expert Group on Energy Efficiency;

  • Expert Group on Cleaner Electricity Systems;

  • Expert Group on Renewable Energy;

  • Committee on Sustainable Energy.

Discussions focused on the development of renewable energy, enhancing energy efficiency in industry and construction, strengthening the resilience of energy systems, advancing digital transformation, promoting sustainable mobility, adapting the workforce to new challenges, and ensuring access to modern technologies.

Participants also reviewed the implementation of the 2024–2025 work plans and defined strategic priorities for 2026–2027.

During the 34th session of the Committee on Sustainable Energy, progress achieved since the previous session was evaluated, and further directions were outlined in light of current global energy challenges.

The delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Concern “Turkmennebit”, took part in the events of the Week.
