SPECA Region Strengthens Cooperation on Sustainable Energy under Turkmenistan’s Chairmanship

On 2 October 2025, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, the event “Sustainable Energy Cooperation in the SPECA Region: Strengthening Energy Resilience, Green Transition and Interregional Partnership” was held as part of the UNECE Sustainable Energy Week.

The meeting was organized by the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva and the UNECE Secretariat, within Turkmenistan’s Chairmanship of SPECA in 2025.

Ambassador Vepa Hajiyev, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Office in Geneva, delivered opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of expanding international cooperation, promoting renewable energy, and fostering green transition across the region.

The event reaffirmed the SPECA region’s strategic role as a bridge between Europe and Asia and UNECE’s significance as a key platform for dialogue and joint action on sustainable energy.
