The 113th session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) has started in Geneva. During this session, key issues are planned to be discussed – reports from the governing bodies of the ILO, the budget for 2026–27, the application of international labour standards, protection from biological risks, development of decent work in the platform economy, and measures to fight informal employment.

Today, the list of countries whose situations will be reviewed during the conference in connection with violations of international labour conventions was also announced.

For several years, Turkmenistan has often been included in the list of countries causing concern to the ILO regarding the application of Convention No. 105 (Abolition of Forced Labour Convention). This issue was considered separately during the 105th, 109th, 111th, and 112th sessions of the Conference.

It is important to note that this year Turkmenistan was removed from the short list of countries whose cases will be reviewed in detail. This is an important result of the consistent work of the Government of Turkmenistan together with the International Labour Organization to eliminate remarks and improve the practice of applying Convention No. 105.

As is usual, Turkmenistan is represented at the Conference by a delegation headed by the Minister of Labour and Social Protection.

The current session will last until June 13.
