Meeting with ILO Representatives
On October 24, 2024, the Turkmenistan delegation held a meeting with Beata Andrees, Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia of the International Labour Organization (ILO), at the ILO headquarters in Geneva. The main focus was on strengthening cooperation in labor rights and social protection. Discussions centered on strategies to establish sustainable employment conditions in Turkmenistan and uphold ILO labor standards.
Beata Andrees noted Turkmenistan’s progress in improving working conditions and adopting international standards, particularly through sustainable employment and social protection programs. Both parties reviewed the potential for developing sustainable labor resource programs, expanding opportunities for women, reducing informal employment, and enhancing social protection. The Turkmen delegation reaffirmed its commitment to close cooperation with the ILO, emphasizing that adherence to international labor standards remains a priority in its national program.
