MEETING BETWEEN DELEGATION OF TURKMENISTAN AND ILO REGIONAL DIRECTOR B.ANDREES

Today, on the sidelines of the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, a meeting took place between the delegation of Turkmenistan, led by the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan, Mr.M.Silapov, and the Assistant Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO) – Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Ms.Beate Andrees.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the ILO, the results achieved, and plans for further collaboration. Particular attention was given to the practical implementation of international labour obligations, including prospects for the full removal of Turkmenistan’s cases from the ILO agenda in the context of the application of Convention No. 105 (Abolition of Forced Labour).

An agreement was reached by the parties to continue constructive cooperation with the active involvement of trade unions and employers' associations to promote labour standards and strengthen partnership relations.
