Turkmenistan Delegation Participates in the 82nd Session of the UN Committee Against Torture

On April 23–24, 2025, the delegation of Turkmenistan participated in the 82nd session of the United Nations Committee Against Torture, held in Geneva. The session marked an important step in strengthening constructive dialogue between Turkmenistan and international human rights mechanisms.
During the meeting, the Turkmen delegation presented information on the country’s efforts to prevent torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment. The delegation outlined key achievements in national legislation, judicial practice, and ongoing initiatives aimed at raising legal awareness among law enforcement officers and improving access to justice.
The discussions were held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. Committee members acknowledged the delegation’s openness and willingness to engage in meaningful dialogue, expressing appreciation for Turkmenistan’s efforts and interest in continued cooperation.
