The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, has invited the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to visit Turkmenistan in 2026.

According to the "Report", this was stated in a congratulatory message addressed by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow to President Aliyev in connection with the unanimous decision adopted at the 7-th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia regarding “the full participation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.”

“We look forward to welcoming you, esteemed Ilham Heydar oglu, as a dear brother and friend at next year’s 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, which will be held in Turkmenistan,” the message reads.
