The Delegation of Turkmenistan Participated in the WTO and ADB Forum on Central Asian Integration

On 22–23 October 2025, the high-level forum “The CAREC Region and the Multilateral Trading System: Deepening Integration in Central Asia and Beyond” was held at the headquarters of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva. The event was jointly organized by the WTO and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Mr. B. Yalakov, took part in the forum.

In his address, Mr. Yalakov emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan’s gradual integration into the multilateral trading system, highlighting the country’s priorities in harmonizing national legislation with WTO standards and strengthening regional cooperation to expand trade and economic relations.

Within the framework of the forum, the Turkmen delegation held a meeting with the WTO leadership, during which they discussed the current steps toward Turkmenistan’s accession to the WTO, the exchange of experience with member states, as well as opportunities for technical and advisory support from international partners.

Turkmenistan’s participation in this forum marked an important step towards strengthening cooperation with the WTO, enhancing the country’s external economic potential, and promoting its interests within regional and global economic processes.
