Phone Conversation Between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran

On 5 June 2025, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedovand President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.

During the exchange, the two leaders extended warm congratulations on the occasion of the sacred holiday of Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bayram) and expressed sincere wishes of peace, well-being, and prosperity to the fraternal peoples of both countries. They also wished for the acceptance of charitable offerings and prayers performed during the blessed holiday by the Almighty.

President Pezeshkian emphasized the importance Iran places on strengthening the bonds of friendship and brotherhood with Turkmenistan and took the opportunity to extend warm greetings and best wishes to the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The President of Iran also highly praised Turkmenistan’s peaceful foreign policy, implemented under the visionary leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and commended the initiative that led the UN General Assembly to declare 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust.

In response, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude and conveyed to President Pezeshkian greetings and congratulations on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen People. The conversation also highlighted the historical and cultural ties between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Iran, which span several millennia. Both sides affirmed their mutual readiness to continue enhancing trade, economic, and cultural cooperation.

At the conclusion of the conversation, the two presidents wished each other good health, success in their state duties, and continued prosperity, while expressing best wishes of peace and well-being to the peoples of both nations.

The telephone call was held at the initiative of the Iranian side.
