On the Meeting at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs

On January 15, 2025, a meeting took place at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland between the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Mr. Vepa Hajiev, and Ms. Anja Zobrist, Special Advisor to the State Secretary. During the meeting, key aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and prospects for its further development were discussed.

The participants paid particular attention to the current state of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Switzerland. Political collaboration, the enhancement of the legal framework for cooperation, and partnership within multilateral platforms were among the topics addressed.

A special focus was placed on strengthening economic ties. The parties discussed prospects for implementing joint projects aimed at developing trade relations and fostering investment collaboration.

In addition, within the framework of the "Blue Peace" initiative, which promotes sustainable water resource management, a number of environmental issues were highlighted. The participants expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation on this topic, emphasizing the importance of sustainable development for both countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue a constructive dialogue and implement joint initiatives aimed at expanding cooperation in key areas.
